When You Think "Mobile" Think Beyond The Phone

Luxury brand Chanel is tapping the unique bnefits of the iPad for a new marketing program through the NY Times iPad app, according to Mobile Marketer.

More than anything, though, this points to a point Steve Jobs made in his All Things Digital conference interview last week: a "banner ad" inside an app that takes the user out of the app and opens a browser, only to leave the user hanging, wanting to get back to the app, is not a very long-lived model.
